3 Things you Should Never Forget When Camping

Boat coolers

Camping is one of the most popular summer activities nationwide. It’s a great way to get friends and/or family together for a few days or maybe even a week. With everyone away from the stresses of school and work, and disconnected from technology, camping gives everyone a chance to truly connect and make wonderful memories. To have a successful trip, you must first be prepared though! Read on for three things to remember when heading away on a trip.

Cooler

This seems incredibly obvious, but you would be surprised at how many people forget to bring their cooler. It’s probably because it’s so obvious, that people believe there is no way they would forget it! Make sure you either have a heavy duty cooler or a good place to store it while camping, because bears are able to detect odors from more than a mile away.

First Aid Kit

This is something that unfortunately slips the mind of many. In your first aid kit, you should bring ointments, bandages, and wraps, as well as any medicine you may need. It is essential to be able to treat things such as bites, rashes, burns, or sprains until you are able to get back to proper medical care.

Sporting Equipment

If you plan on doing any physical activities while you’re away, you should also plan for those. Over 38 million Americans enjoy hunting and fishing, while many others enjoy swimming and hiking. If you’re new to hiking, be sure to hike no more than six to 12 miles per day, as it can be dangerous and lead to dehydration or exhaustion. Bringing a backpack cooler with water bottles is essential if you’re a novice!

Are you planning on going camping? Have you already been camping this year? What advice, thoughts, or comments do you have? We’d love to hear your opinion!
